Consulting Focus: Calzado Reyes needed assistance increasing capacity and improving the quality of their shoes to remain competitive. Agora worked with Santos to create a plan to increase quality and production capacity, buy machinery, and find a distributor to enter the mid-tier market.
"I have never been a conformist. Since I was seven years old, I worked shining shoes, but I always told myself things won't always be this way. At fifteen, I was getting frustrated. I met someone who made shoes and I told him, I want to learn the trade, I don't want to spend the rest of my life shining shoes. Later I told myself, I don't want to spend the rest of my life just making shoes. I want something more that will create a better life for me and my children."
